General Manager, Feeder Associations of Alberta Ltd.
The Feeder Associations of Alberta Ltd. (FAA) is seeking a self motivated individual with proven leadership and organizational skills to manage their business operations and industry/government relationships. The General Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff in carrying out the FAA’s mission. FAA is a non-profit cooperative that represents 56 local feeder associations with over 4,000 members. Local feeder associations provide financial resources that enable members to purchase and feed livestock in Alberta. In addition FAA provides other financial services to both members and cattle producers in Alberta. The business office is located in Barrhead, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

Manage the FAA business units including direction and supervision of staff

Maintain strong working relationships with local feeder associations and government partners

Represent the Board at various industry and government events as required
Candidate Requirements:

Proven interpersonal skills and leadership ability in a team work environment
-
Ability to plan, organize and direct operations based on strategic direction

Financial management expertise including supervision of budgets, expenditures, internal controls and reporting
-
Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience
-
Effective oral and written communication skills
-
Well developed computer and communication technology skills
-
Keen interest in and knowledge of the livestock feeding sector in Alberta
-
Capable of being bonded
